Former Parent, Chris Rollins and her family are helping the center host another fabulous fundraiser. The event was so much fun last year, that we have decided to do it again. Many of you may have been to a quarter auction before. Always the event will have a theme – maybe home products, jewelry, sports, etc. Our event will have something for every member of your family. That’s right, everybody, especially your favorite child.
How does the Quarter Auction work?
Guests will rent a paddle for $5.00 when they come in the door. You can rent as many paddles as you want. The more paddles you have, the greater your chances of winning the item up for bid. These paddles have numbers, and a corresponding number on a chip will be placed in a bucket for the drawing.
To bid on an item: The guests bid on each item by putting their quarter into a container on their table and holding up their paddle. Each item has a minimum bid. It could be 1-4 quarters. As each item is “closed” for bidding, a number is picked from the numbered chip bucket and whoever owns that number on their paddle wins the prize. If you do not bid and your number is pulled, then you do not win. Another number is drawn until a winner claims the prize.
At this auction, there will be other chances to win prizes with a table of raffle items, a 50/50 drawing, and door prizes.
No admittance will be charged to attend this event. You do have to purchase paddles to participate in the auction. You are welcome to bring your own snacks. If you have any questions regarding this event, call us at 618-235-9392.
Note: We are also taking donations of items to be auctioned off. Items can be dropped off at the center any time we are open.
